Rage by Jackie Morse Kessler

The Second Book in the Riders of the Apocalypse series...this was all about Horseman War.  It was good!  I preferred the first book, Hunger, to this one, but I think that has to do with the fact that I read the entire thing in one sitting.  This one took a little longer to get through since I was only reading it on my lunch break; which left me about 10 minutes to actually read!!!  The third book comes out in the Spring and is all about Pestilence.  It will be called Loss.  I'm excited about this one since you don't really see Pestilence in these other two books, it will be interesting to see where the author takes this!  Check out the synopsis and reviews of RAGE!!!

"Missy didn’t mean to cut so deep. But after the party where she was humiliated in front of practically everyone in school, who could blame her for wanting some comfort? Sure, most people don’t find comfort in the touch of a razor blade, but Missy always was . . . different.

That’s why she was chosen to become one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War. Now Missy wields a new kind of blade—a big, brutal sword that can cut down anyone and anything in her path. But it’s with this weapon in her hand that Missy learns something that could help her triumph over her own pain: control.

A unique approach to the topic of self-mutilation,Rageis the story of a young woman who discovers her own power and refuses to be defeated by the world."

"Troy Billings is seventeen, 296 pounds, friendless, utterly miserable, and about to step off a New York subway platform in front of an oncoming train. Until he meets Curt MacCrae, an emaciated, semi-homeless, high school dropout guitar genius, the stuff of which Lower East Side punk rock legends are made. Never mind that Troy's dad thinks Curt's a drug addict and Troy's brother thinks Troy's the biggest (literally) loser in Manhattan. Soon, Curt's recruited Troy as his new drummer even though Troy can't play the drums. Together, Curt and Troy will change the world of punk, and Troy's own life, forever."

It’s the best blend of humor, history, and comics! This is the perfect Summer Manga Read and Anime Watch as our Summer Reading Club theme is “You Are Here!” and different places around the world. So, how can you get in on this great read? Well, you can either check out the books (YA/GN/HET VOL.1 & YA/GN/HET VOL.2) or you can watch the Anime (YA/DVD/GN/HETALIA)

During World War I, gruff Germany finds Italy hiding in a wooden box of tomatoes. Germany takes Italy as prisoner, but instead of war-like interrogation, Italy becomes more of the nuisance and unwanted guest. World War I quickly comes to an end, but World War II is right on its heels! This time, Italy tries his best to become friends with Germany. They soon befriend Japan, and the three of them form the Axis Powers. Meanwhile, America, who loves heroism and hamburgers, tries to form a treaty, as Great Britain reminisces about when America was his loving child.

Worried that you won’t have time to watch an entire season (or two) of Anime? Don’t worry! Each episode of this delightful Anime is only 5 minutes long! You can watch the entire season in 3 hours!! Of course, after those 3 hours, you’ll probably have the Opening and Ending Credits stuck in your head. But it’s a small price to pay for all the laughs you’ll get!
