Perfect

So I know its been a while but so many new exciting books came out!  So I am now in the middle of reading 4 different books and hope to be done with them soon so I can tell you about them!  But until then, I have finished the 3rd book in the Pretty Little Liars series "Perfect".  The books are getting better the further you go along.  Still, it gets a little annoying when the author drops name brands in but the story is really starting to pick up!  The ending is sure to have you reaching for the 4th!  Here is the synopsis:

In a town where gossip thrives like the ivy that clings to its mansions, where mysteries lie behind manicured hedges and skeletons hide in every walk-in closet, four perfect-looking girls aren't nearly as perfect as they seem.

Three years ago, Spencer, Aria, Emily, Hanna, and their best friend Alison were the girls at Rosewood Day School. They clicked through the halls in their Miu Miu flats, tanned in their matching Pucci bikinis, and laughed behind their freshly manicured fingernails. They were the girls everyone loved but secretly hated—especially Alison.

So when Alison mysteriously vanished one night, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna's grief was tinged with . . . relief. And when Alison's body was later discovered in her own backyard, the girls were forced to unearth some ugly memories of their old friend, too. Could there be more to Alison's death than anyone realizes?

Now someone named A, someone who seems to know everything, is pointing the finger at one of them for Ali's murder. As their secrets get darker and their scandals turn deadly, A is poised to ruin their perfect little lives forever.

The Grimm Legacy

Imagine a world where the magical artifacts like dancing shoes, genies, and magic mirrors truly existed. And what if you could check those items out of a library? This is the world created in the book, The Grimm Legacy. Elizabeth works at the library and is given all access to the special collections throughout. But soon, items start coming up missing. Its up to the teens in this book to figure out where the items have gone and how to get them back! Check it out!

Here's the synopsis:

"Elizabeth has a new job at an unusual library— a lending library of objects, not books. In a secret room in the basement lies the Grimm Collection. That’s where the librarians lock away powerful items straight out of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales: seven-league boots, a table that produces a feast at the blink of an eye, Snow White’s stepmother’s sinister mirror that talks in riddles.

When the magical objects start to disappear, Elizabeth embarks on a dangerous quest to catch the thief before she can be accused of the crime—or captured by the thief.

Polly Shulman has created a contemporary fantasy with a fascinating setting and premise, starring an ordinary girl whose after-school job is far from ordinary— and leads to a world of excitement, romance and magical intrigue."-goodreads

Stolen

So this book...wow. The mixture of emotions I felt while reading this book was incredible! The author does such a great job at making you feel things about both characters but then question what your feeling as a result of who these people are!

This book has 3 characters: the Kidnapper, the Kidnappee, and the outback. Girl is stolen from an airport by a man that has been watching her for years. He takes her from China to australia with different clothes and a different passport. He holds her in this house he has built over the last 6 years in the middle of the desert. There is no where to run and no way of escape. What will she do? Read the book to find out! Here's the synopsis!

"Sixteen year old Gemma is kidnapped from Bangkok airport and taken to the Australian Outback. This wild and desolate landscape becomes almost a character in the book, so vividly is it described. Ty, her captor, is no stereotype. He is young, fit and completely gorgeous. This new life in the wilderness has been years in the planning. He loves only her, wants only her. Under the hot glare of the Australian sun, cut off from the world outside, can the force of his love make Gemma love him back? The story takes the form of a letter, written by Gemma to Ty, reflecting on those strange and disturbing months in the outback. Months when the lines between love and obsession, and love and dependency, blur until they don't exist - almost" -goodreads

Sleepless

This was an interesting book! I have never read anything quite like it. I thoroughly enjoyed that the chapters were told alternatingly with two narrators. This book exceeded my expectations. I liked it so much that as soon as I got home, I ordered Cyn Balog's other book entitled "Fairytale". Check them both out!!!

"Eron De Marchelle isn't supposed to feel a connection. He is a Sandman, a supernatural being whose purpose is to seduce human charges to sleep. While he can communicate with his charges in their dreams, he isn't encouraged to--after all, getting too involved in one human's life would prevent him helping his other charges get their needed rest.

But he can't deny that he feels something for Julia. Julia, with her fiery red hair and her sad dreams. Just weeks ago, her boyfriend died in a car accident, and Eron can tell that she feels more alone than ever. Eron was human once too, many years ago, and he remembers how it felt to lose the one he loved. Eron has always felt protective of Julia . . . but now, when she seems to need him more than ever, he can't seem to reach her . . .

Sandmen are forbidden from communicating with humans outside their dreams. But will Eron be willing to risk everything for a chance to be with the person he loves?"-goodreads

Pretty Little Liars

So some of you may have heard about this new show called Pretty Little Liars on abc family...but did you know it was actually a book series!?!?!?! I did...and I told myself that I had to read some of them before I watched the show.

I ended up reading the first two while I was on vacation and let me tell you; they were good!!! I'm on the third one right now. They really hold your interest and keep you guessing til the end! The only thing I didnt really like was the fact that when the author talks about shoes or purses or cars or phones, she busts out the name brands so instead of saying, "she put on her shoes" it ends up being this big old long 6 worded phrase. Which is fine for now, just a little annoying; but in ten years, the people that read the book are going to be saying, "what is she talking about???" Here are the synopsis for the first two books.

And can I say that after reading these two books, I decided I could watch the show...it is like totally different and I didnt understand what was going on!!! So if you havent read the books but have watched the show...read the books!!! Its like a completely different wonderful story...and if you havent watched the show yet...its good!

ok, here ya go!

"Everyone has something to hide—especially high school juniors Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna.

Spencer covets her sister's boyfriend. Aria's fantasizing about her English teacher. Emily's crushing on the new girl at school. Hanna uses some ugly tricks to stay beautiful.

But they've all kept an even bigger secret since their friend Alison vanished.

How do I know? Because I know everything about the bad girls they were, the naughty girls they are, and all the dirty secrets they've kept. And guess what? I'm telling."-goodreads

"Spencer stole her sister's boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. Hanna's obsession with looking flawless is making her sick. And their most horrible secret yet is so scandalous that the truth would ruin them forever.

And why shouldn't I tell? They deserve to lose it all. With every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message I send, I'll be taking these pretty little liars down. Trust me, I've got enough dirt to bury them alive. "-goodreads

Keep Sweet

So I'm back! Vacation was wonderful driving through the mountains I was able to read lots of books! First on my list was Keep Sweet. Another one of my polygamist books. I thought they did an excellent job at making this story original. Heres a review!

" Alva Jane has never questioned her parents, never questioned her faith, never questioned her future. She is content with the strict rules that define her life in Pineridge, the walled community where she lives with her father, his seven wives, and her twenty-eight siblings. This is the only world Alva has ever known, and she has never thought to challenge it.

But everything changes when Alva is caught giving her long-time crush an innocent first kiss. Beaten, scorned, and now facing a forced marriage to a violent, fifty-year old man, Alva suddenly realizes how much she has to lose--and how impossible it will be to escape." -goodreads

This was an excellent book!!! Be sure to check it out!
