XVI

So I was super excited about this book!!!!  And then I read it...it was okay.  I think I may have hyped it up in my head too much.  I mean it started out good and I felt like it was really gonna get somewhere...and then it kept going and going and going....and eventually I'm over half way through and it still hasn't picked up!!!  I mean, the author does a good job of filling you in on information, but it just takes so long and then there is no like climactic point to drive it home!!!  I got to the end and felt very dissatisfied.  Now I do have to say that if there is a second book, I would read it because it is totally set up for one.  But if there are no more books to follow up XVI, then I have to say as a stand alone book, it just didn't do it for me.  If you like dystopian fiction and feel like you have the time to give to a possible new series...I say pick it up and take a look!

It seems to me that this book is very flippy floppy....meaning people either really liked it or didn't.  Be the judge for  yourself.

Great Graphic Novels for Teens Reading Challenge

March 1st through May 31st, 2011

Open to children ages 13 and up!

If you like reading graphic novels, then this challenge is for you! The Richton Park Library would like to challenge you to read as many of the YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens 2011 List as possible! You could win a copy of your favorite paperback graphic novel (some limitations apply)!

Here's all you have to do! Come into the Richton Park Library and check out our Spring Display of the YALSA Great Graphic Novels for Teens. You have until May 31st to read 5 of them. After you read 5 of the graphic novels on the list, come up to the front desk and ask for the Reading Challenge form! From there, you just fill out the 5 graphic novels you read and tell us your favorite graphic novel from those 5 and turn it in!! Better yet - You can enter for every 5 graphic novels from the list you have read (no duplicating books on your forms please!), so the more you read, the more chances you have to win (max. of 12 entries per person)!

Last day for entering the Challenge is May 31st, 2011!
